Please Thank Our Pro-life Senators
Early in December 2002 the Human Embryo Research Bill passed the Senate, with 45 Senators voting for destructive embryonic research. However, 26 Senators voted against the Bill. Please contact these Senators and thank them for doing the right thing in this matter. They all can be reached via The Senate, Parliament House, Canberra ACT 2600. For more contact details, see this web site: http://www.aph.gov.au/
The 26 Senators are:
RKR Alston, G Barnett, TM Bishop, RLD Boswell, BJ Brown, G Buckland, PH Calvert, HGP Chapman, JMA Collins, HL Coonan, A Eggleston, CM Ellison, MG Forshaw, B Harradine, L Harris, W Heffernan, JJ Hogg, SP Hutchins, PR Lightfoot, JAL Macdonald, JJJ McGauran, NH Minchin, SM Murphy, S Santoro, NJ Sherry, U Stephens.
While the defeat was a serious blow to the pro-life cause, it is but one battle in a long, drawn-out war. There will be many more such skirmishes. We will lose some, but we will also win some. We need to redouble our efforts in the year ahead.
Many other pro-life fronts are in need of our action. The euthanasia debate continues to bubble along, and the prospect of human cloning may now already be upon us. Now is not the time to give in to discouragement, but to strengthen our resolve and continue defending the sanctity of human life.
