Family Conference in Brisbane

A one-day conference full of effective and practical ideas and strategies for strengthening marriage and family relationships will be presented by world class international and Australian speakers on Saturday, July 24 at the UQ Centre in St Lucia, Brisbane.
Called Family Expo,the conference is co-sponsored by the Australian Family Association, the University of Queensland Parenting and Family Support Centre and the Brisbane City Council, supported by the Queensland Government Department of Communities and organised by the Family Council of Queensland.

The Governor-General of Australia, Major General Michael Jeffery AC CVO MC, will give the opening remarks at the conference. Exhibitors at the Family Expo will include the Queensland Government Department of Communities, Triple P, the Australian Family Association, Focus on the Family andDrug-ARM.
Family Council of Queensland president Mr Alan Baker said up to 2000 parents were expected to attend the 2004 Family Expo. "As parents, we need all the help we can get to bring up our children in today's world," Mr Baker said. "In fact, many parents wish their kids came with an instruction manual! The only event of its kind in Australia, Family Expo is a valuable resource for parents and will help those who attend to improve their parenting skills and strengthen their marriage and family relationships."
